Our brain is what experiences things, but at a very basic level our body is the vehicle which we use to move through life.

So we need to look after it. Although I’m into physical challenges, when it comes to my body I also consider longevity and the desire to be active later in life.

I want to be able to kick a football with my grandkids, run, ride my bike, look after myself and loved ones and be pain free.

I therefore invest in the following ways:

  • Strength – not super heavy but enough resistance that I can do 12 to 20 reps of each exercise
  • Flexibility – from stretching to foam rolling and self-massage
  • Cardio – from a longevity point of view 80% easy, 20% harder effort
  • Nutrition – high nutrient, balanced macros, low processed and no overeating
  • Rest and sleep – I’m into having a good 8 to 9 hours a night. Same sort of time to go to sleep and wake up
  • Intermittent fasting – just enough to rest my body and let it heal

What I eat is by far the one I need most work on. Convenience is an enemy and it’s too easy to eat more than we need!

There is so much more detail to what I’ve written, but from a simplicity perspective, that’s what I believe in based on what I know today.
