This is a controversial post.
A provocative thought about some of our social media behavior.
But more importantly, it’s the much bigger point that we should challenge the motivations that sit behind all of our actions.
The idea is that if we like and comment on each others WordPress blogs, then the visibility of our own content goes up because others see our actions and then visit our site.
But are we actually finding each others content helpful? Are we even reading it? Do you then visit that site and browse with intent to learn? Or are we just hit ‘like’ and posting a ‘nice blog’ comment?
There’s an important message that sits behind this. And that is we should question why we’re taking the action we are and is this a good use of time? Is what we’re doing because it’s the right thing to do/it’s genuine? Or is it a less meaningful reason?
Back to the blog thing – so I pledge to myself and others, that I only ‘like’ and comment on things I believe in and gained insight from.
So please only like this post if it’s because you found the underlying message thought provoking and valuable.
Thank you for reading this.
