If you include a broader set of feelings such as fulfilment, love, contentment and satisfaction. Plus you accept feelings come and go; vary in their intensity; and are impacted by your body chemistry and surroundings, then I say yes it is. Why not?

How do we know if we’re making the best of things?

If you focus on being happy, then you can be at peace that you are. Even less happy times have value – they help you make changes and highlight the better times.

So be clear on what makes you happy, then be deliberate about living it.
