I believe the meaning of life, is life itself. By that I mean we’re here to continue evolving the human race and to preserve life.

If we accept that, then I think happiness is about:

  • Relationships with loved ones
  • Personal growth
  • Helping others in their journey
  • Living, exploring and enjoying what the world has to offer

If we balance these ingredients, we’ll maximise our own lives and do our bit to keep humankind moving forward.

With that in mind, the one thing we should all put more focus into is the health of our planet. Because without it, happiness is irrelevant.

I can buy into the idea that other habitable planets exist, just by the fact that earth does. But by sustaining what we have we are preserving ‘home’ for our bloodline, helping others and getting personal growth through thinking bigger than now.

As I write this, I doubt I will be alive to witness a ‘reset’ of planet earth, but I can rationalise how it will be the case for one generation in the future. Perhaps it’s inevitable, history suggests that might be the case, but the evidence makes me think we are accelerating things faster than is natural.
